Atlantic, the Verge, CNN, and Washington Post posted this story within a minute of each other and the Atlantic has a complicated photoshop of the people banned—this is weird news for FB to release under embargo!
Facebook has gone great lengths to coddle the right and show there is not some anti-right-wing conspiracy at the company. I can think of no better way of undermining this than banning all the high-profile far-right people on your platform at once with a coordinated media release

if you were actually breaking this news in a "breaking news" sort of way there's no way you'd have this photoshop ready to go or would bother with making one if you're racing to beat your competitors is what i'm saying

So if a venue, let's say a college, is hosting a speaking event with a "problematic figure", and they post the event to their Facebook calendar, they'll be banned. Cool cool, this is totally normal.

Very conspiratorial of them. Corporate Fascism on display. Are they trying to force regulation? Does the government want the keys back for their projects?
