I just want to clarify that Japanese people also judge otakus quite harshly too and I think these people in the picture weren't looking at them in a bad way, but just maybe surprised. So my tweet wasn't against foreigners but rather people who don't get the otaku culture ^^
Honestly I would have been lying there if the character were Kaneki Ken from Tokyo Ghoul or Louise from Zero no Tsukaima. Not to mention I'd do anything Pikachu related too 
If it was, I'm so sad I missed this event...

Maybe I don’t get the joke but maybe theyre just confused why they are doing it outside where everyone can see it or so?
