    Two days ago the European Commission unveiled its new climate legislation package. One day ago, my home-town Maastricht partially flooded, including the building where the European Union was founded. 10 years left.

    Echt een wereldplek om te werken, zowel zelf als het mooie park waarin het instituut staat. Ik moet er nog steeds aan wennen dat mensen trouwfoto's maken bij ons voor de deur, of dat er kano's onder m'n kantoor door varen...

    The situation in Poland shows that the Conference on the Future of Europe must lead to treaty change ✔A reform of decision making on fundamental values breaches ✔European democracy that is visible and inclusive West and East have been deaf to each other too long 🇪🇺

    Truly moved by images of mass protest coming out of 🇵🇱 Europeans have for centuries failed to deal with their interdependence peacefully & democratically. Today we do it through a legal order rooted in democracy & rule of law. This is what is at stake both in 🇵🇱 & 🇪🇺 today.
