Also: Pharmacies are a nightmare. Walgreens & CVS Specialty bought out all the small companies that give home infusions. Now they fill the infusion Rx, ship it to your house w/supplies, and provide the nurse to give the IV. The nurses are great. The pharmacies aren't.
The public option should include coverage for teaching hospitals. Insurance companies made them out of network starting in 2016.
Yay! That's the way to deal with this, an option. I'll tell you one thing: we're paying the same for our federal plan (BCBS) but the quality of service has declined & getting the benefits they *cover* has gotten more difficult.
