Not just insulin needs to be affordable! One of my diabetic medications has a copay of over $500! Without the medication, I will end up in ICU on an insulin drip to regulate my blood glucose levels! Who wants to get their blood drawn every 15 minutes?!

Claiming that the money is used for new discoveries is absurd. I've been using the same insulin for about 15 yrs and haven't heard about anything innovative being released soon. I literally have to depend on my mom for insulin since I can't afford it myself and I'm 29 now.
