.@janschakowsky my son depends on @Metra @metraBNSF for transportation every work day. He’s a young man with autism who is a non-driver. He takes two trains to get to his workplace. His trains are often late, overcrowded or they stop at some point in the route. Please improve!

Thanks for advocating for investment in public transportation! With adequate funding, we would be able to invest in improvements system-wide, including operating more comfortable and reliable service.

I think my train's cars are older than I am.

A lot of them are. The average age of our rolling stock is 40 years old and some even date back to the Eisenhower era. If Illinois commits to
#InvestInTransit, we will be able to fund several improvements, including the purchase of modern rolling stock. - 1 more reply

Great work? Where? After multiple fare increases their service has only gotten worse.

Could you detail this "great work"? Overpaid conductors, dirty trains (not a capital problem), late trains, shutdowns, etc. What's the good part? Enlighten us.

Did you just say that with a straight face,
@janschakowsky? Maybe you should ride Metra once in a while, and you wouldn't be so complimentary.#frozenswitchesiswhywerelateThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@Metra, I'm all for pushing for more state funding but why don't you sell your case instead of just whining. Compare your budget efficiency and on time effectiveness to other systems like LIRR and prove you're doing the best you can. LIRR gets abt the same % of public funding. -
Put a short report together and publish that instead of just posing for pictures with people no one knows with no details of the "great work" they're doing.
