Congresswoman, I was born in Chicago; I now live in the Deep South. There simply CANNOT be a 15$ min. wage in Mobile, AL or Jackson, MS. Many places in the South professional people with college degrees do well to earn 15$ an hour. Can't have 15$ starting wage in that context.
The #FightFor15 is one part of @HouseDemocrats' commitment to get workers and middle-class families a long overdue raise. Illinois is leading the way, and I'm looking forward to Congress to do its job and raise the minimum wage to a uniform amount across all 50 states.
