    A tip for freelancers: always read your contracts. It's pretty standard today for publications to ask you to sign away the rights to your work forever. I've found that if you ask for the rights to your work to revert to you after a year, they will almost always grant the change.

    Hey Ben, quick story for ya- My period was a full week late this month. That never happens. I suspected it had to do with new medication i’m on for a chronic illness, so I decided to wait a few more days. Luckily, it came. That’s how periods work, you craven psycho.

    It's not a "backdoor ban." It is a ban on abortion after six weeks of pregnancy, just like it says it is. The fact that this is early in pregnancy is the entire point of the bill. The fact that a six-week-old embryo is apparently just a missed period to you is disturbing.

    So, when we see someone like KK using her wealth to basically privately fund campaigns, though the instinct is to ask why she isn’t doing more, I think we should really be asking why so-called progressive policy makers and funders of criminal justice reform aren’t doing more?

    Tomorrow marks the 44th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam war in 1975. This picture was taken 4 years before that, at my father’s university in Hanoi. He joined thousands from the university who volunteered to go to the war. My father was 19 years old.
