Yesterday two ongoing efforts met: our study of Steppe eagles and tracking rehabilitated birds. This amazing bird was found exhausted and treated in the Israeli Wildlife Hospital. Yesterday it got a GPS tag and was released back to the wild.

I was just about to call it a day and was packing up my truck when this beauty crossed the road and flew right in front of me. I grabbed my camera and sat in the road and took a few photos getting back in my truck to watch it hunt for the next half hour.

I tried layering some images to show what it’s like when I watch Ospreys hunt. Hopefully my layering skills will improve, but for now, I think this is a pretty good representation of the dive. The bird nerd in me gets so pumped each time I witness this. 😁

Yale is looking for a tenure track faculty member (deadline Feb 21) that works on human-wildlife coexistence! Pretty awesome sounding to me. Share widely with your networks. So great to see coexistence getting more attention.
