As someone who lost a sister to an overdose in February, I thank you for your empathy and attention to this epidemic.

I was married to an alcoholic and drug addict. They dont want to change. They have an abusive personality in every way. No matter how much understanding, patience and love you give, you get no change....only being taken advantage of. It will never change because they dont want to

Ashley is against a common sense approach here.

I lost 2 young cousins to overdoses within 12 months of each other. Thank you for addressing a critical issue affecting so many. Opiate addiction doesn't discriminate. Anyone can become a victim.

Adding robust mental health access could help sustain progress. As you probably know there is a shortage of providers so chaning reimbursement rules to pay for different licensure levels would help.

Explain to me how this is so sad? Drug addicts which this state supports rather than keeping people off drugs. Really? Addicts? Give me a break. Just say NO. idiots. someone will ban me now. poor snowflakes.

Opiate deaths are not always drug addicts, fool.

It's clear from the callous and uninformed comments here that we need a public education initiative aimed at ending the stigma associated with substance use disorder. This epidemic is terrifying & tragic; we are understandably shocked and overwhelmed. We need to unite to end it.

How many people lost their lives because of alcoholism? It’s not just about opiates. It’s about ALL substance abuse.
