It's amazing to me that more women don't speak out about this. I hear so many stories.

one word; backlash. Being called a liar, an attention-seeker, etc. Ostracism by people who resent the disruption caused by calling bad behaviour to account. Speaking out can often be a career-limiting move, or worse; a personal safety risk.

Saw the LinkedIn post. As you know, I’ve been exercised with the question of naming and shaming for a while now! Seems to me the time is up for hiding in plain sight. Let me know if/how I can help.

I am appalled to read this Jane. Not the behaviour anyone should expect to be confronted with anywhere. Well done on being undeterred in continuing to be you.

I just despair at this @JaneFrankland noone should ever have to go through this and it makes me so angry. I thought naming and shaming was the way to go, but perhaps seeing if the #WHB2020 can deal with this or of not the police is the way to go. If I can help, let me know

Thanks Mike. Unfortunatley we can't name & shame. There are legal implications for that. The law is often an ass & known perpetrators like this one will continue to feel entitled & to assault women. MAKES ME SO MAD!

So sorry to hear about this Jane. You did the right thing. I would name and shame the abuser but that will just cause more unnecessary harm.

Yes. There are legal implications too. Right now I’m reporting it to the WHB & considering whether I’ll include the police. The IN Security CoC doesn’t recommend naming & shaming.
