When Laura and I married two weeks ago - a Christian pastor on here DM'd me to express a few things, including disagreeing with marriages like ours. Today our neighborhood Lutheran church wanted us to know - They see us. They support us. Thank You Bethel Lutheran.

"Maybe because of me, somebody will watch and say 'I want to do that' and they won't think they have to be somebody else," @janashortal opens up about breaking an unspoken dress code for on-air reporters and why she began dressing in a way that's authentic to herself.

I just watched a kid learning how to ride his bike - and his father was running holding the back of his seat to help him and I just started sobbing. That kid had the look on the face of a child who, in that moment, had no fear and only hope. It. Was. Beautiful. ❤️

Got word early this morning that my stepfather died, immediately I had to figure out how to fly home . I just want to say the compassion I’ve gotten from every person I’ve talked to - from ticketing to the flight attendants - has been incredible. I’ll be home soon mom.

Minnesota has welcomed refugees from Somalia, Laos, Burma, Ethiopia, Bhutan...and more. We are better as one community of all people. A wise man in Jerusalem once said the same.

Hate to say it but my appearance isn’t up for debate. I am guessing that of isn’t either. Women aren’t here to dress to your approval. We are here to work.

@janashortal just stumbled upon your news cast . Hate to say it but your appearance is distracting. The last time I was this distracted I was watching Megyn Kelly when she was all dolled up for a night on the town. Is there less of a costume like clothing you could wear.

I don't know why you have to do this. But I'm going to pray that someday, you realize, hurting people won't make you any happier. I know that hurt people, hurt people. I hope your life finds some joy and light, soon.

Today I am covering a story about an attractive white man who murdered his wife for sure (he said he did) and possibly his children. Then he buried them. Then he lied about it. So, all kinds of people do bad stuff. Bad people are from everywhere. Even here.

In Rosh Hashanah services tonight - moments before news would break - our Rabbi spoke of the one thing, really the one thing. Repair a broken world, as best you can, do the work you can. And at life’s end, show your scars. Show that you did all you could. To do what’s right.

A really nice person bought dinner tonight for my partner and I. I don’t know who they are, nor why they did it. But I do know, this week has been so hard. So, I humbly say thank you. And I promise you. I know how to pay it forward and live by one rule. To care for the stranger.

Coming after me for who I am says everything about you, and nothing about me. I will not plead for you to see my personhood and humanity, its a fools errand. But I encourage you before you attack, to ask yourself, is that who you want to be in the world?

That’s a bummer. Because kids have same sex parents, the Supreme Court gave us equal dignity. To marry. We have kids too. Censoring us, won’t make us go away. Your kids should see us, so they actually see the families of the U.S.

Honest question. Why is what she said wrong? Some people did do something. Some Christians, or white men, did too. They killed in Vegas. Charleston. Newton. Pittsburgh. They did something too. And we don’t shame whites or Christians as people to fear? What did say wrong?

If you’re elected & you don’t do anything to end/lessen the possibility of our kids being shot at school, resign. The job is public service. We, the public, want our kids & teachers safe. If you can’t sit down and say we will do all it takes to fix this, you aren’t fit to serve

yes. my nearly 70-year-old mother always wears her mask. and as of this morning, my light of all lights, my mom, has COVID-19.

Small risks, like getting together with a friend or temporarily taking off your mask, may seem insignificant. But we have to think about what happens when *everyone* takes those risks. That’s how COVID spreads. There is light at the end of the tunnel, but we must stay vigilant.
