I’ve read many scripts over the years. And I’ve found a constant. Most are good. And that’s bad. These “good” scripts are guided by inciting incidents plot points rising action...and that’s just exactly what I see when I read them. We don’t want just good. We want fire.
There've been a lot of "rules" dictated to us by many sources about what works and what doesn't when writing, and I've seen a lot of people adhere to these without working from the gut. While the rules may work, they're sometimes antithetical to what we need to say.
