As a millennial, I pledge not to act towards Gen-Z the same way Boomers and Gen-X'ers did to us, no matter how much they may hate our parted hair, our tight jeans, and our no-show socks. We can take the heat, but I'll be damned if I'll participate in generational divide.
Is this one of those, “when you get older you turn conservative” posts? Because nah, I’m not having it. They have just as much a say for their future as we do for ours. Older folks tend to lose sight of future generation’s needs when it conflicts with their upbringing.

I was mostly joking, but our values are more than our upbringing, they're part of us. There's no reason to believe they fit with Gen Z's priorities. We like clean air, equal rights, public spaces. Chances are real good they will want something we don't. What then?

You're not wrong, they have to live with this place after we're gone. I only mean to say it's easy to offer unqualified support when nothing you value is on the line. It's probably more of a challenge than it looks.
