I haven't read the book, but the 4K version of the movie made my jaw drop.
Absolutely one of my favorite books out of high school. The movie is a strikingly close adaptation, where previously I thought the book was unfilmable.

It did destroy the company that made the sfx.

I know, and for that I am sad. Such is why we have to fight for unions in the industry and make sure people over profit prevails. Doesn’t take away from the film, but certainly puts an asterisk on it.
