Best advice I got in art school was to let yourself be unconnected, don’t be afraid to start things and realize halfway through they’re not going anywhere, or they don’t mean anything. Sometimes you have to push the garbage half-cooked ideas out to get to the diamonds.
Oh! I like this. I used to do a whole lot of freeform writing in my early twenties and gave it up after some time. Maybe I should get back into that.
