It's silly to me that according to the internet, you can't be both a sports fan and a general geek. As if the two dichotomies are exclusive from one another. I hate that the moment you bring up football/baseball around self-acclaimed "geeks," they correct you with "sportsball."
Like, what kind of a toxic relationship is that with fans of anything? I mean, I get it. Jocks were once the bullies and geeks were the meek. But that dynamic has clearly shifted in the last 10 years towards an alarming trend of toxicity against anything alternative to that.
