Three hours ago, I got my first dose of #CovidVaccine. So far, it hasn’t altered my DNA or even turned me into a newt. It has, however, started to protect me against #COVID19. Thanks @karmanoscancer, @McLarenHealth, and @Walgreens for being so organized in getting us the vaccine.pic.twitter.com/XOQRlwbK31 – at Walgreens

Vaccines don't turn you into a newt. Only witches can do that. But, don't worry, it gets better ... </Monty Python> Question is, for a virus that has a 99.7% survival rate, what is the Cost / Benefit analysis of taking a vaccine with unknown and unknowable long term effects?

It didn’t have 99.7% survival rate in my age group, and I’m also male.🙄

But you're asking millions of others who have a 99.9999% survival rate to take a vaccine with unknown and unknowable long term consequences just so that your 9x.xx% survival rate is improved. In my world, that is selfish. I would never ask others to hurt themselves for me.

You do realize, don’t you, that, even if that is correct and overall the disease has “only” a 0.3% mortality overall, if hundreds of millions get infected that will result in millions of deaths.

You do realize that very old people who are very ill die regardless? Question is, are you willing to injure millions of young and healthy people in the process of giving those ill and old people a few more months, until the next virus comes along?pic.twitter.com/ptL2HXPjqV

Deaths in the US past 5 years tracking 300k above last year for 2020. The line moving further away rather than coming back to normal shows that these aren’t people who were just gonna die anyway. Want to bet next year’s line doesn’t track 150k under the 2015-2019 avg?pic.twitter.com/CTwyuWUM70

No one lives forever. Let the 90 year olds die peacefully. How long will this pandemic last? The IMF experts say 5+ years in countries that lockdown. Those that do not lockdown will develop natural herd immunity in 18 months. Pick your poison. 👄 Paul Kangas for Ca. Gov.
