@dancanon can’t the President make war for 90 days without Congress under the War Powers Act? Normal Presidents have never used it, but this isn’t normal obviously.
Only Congress has the power to declare war. A nuclear first strike is a declaration of war. Congress must act now to make clear that Trump does not have military authorization for a nuclear first strike so that military commanders have a legal basis for refusing such an order.

Ummm couldnt you argue since they placed them under the state sponsors of terrorism list they would fall under the authority granted under the current AUMF...one good reason to reopen that issue among many others...fun terrifying fact Iran also on that list
