    Dramatic getaway of some protesters, who abseiled down from a bridge, and sped away on the backs of motorbikes that came out of nowhere on a flyover. Police pelted them with tear gas and projectiles as they perched on precarious ledges

    Just about everyone I’ve ever interviewed or photographed while covering the 2014 protests — at the start of my career — and the 2019 protests has been arrested, is in jail, or in exile. The entire cast of characters of the story of democracy in Hong Kong gone in one fell swoop.

    Just to be clear, political crackdown is having a significant negative impact on business. Legitimate questions about rule of law raised + as image deteriorates, it becomes more and more difficult to defend why you should maintain costly operations here

    Eddie Chu was again arrested this morning at 6:25 am pertaining to the 35+ primary election. Eddie Chu is accused of breaching the draconian National Security Law. It is not yet known which Police station has been sent to.

    We condemn the arrests of 52 pro-democracy politicians who ran in the primaries last July that drew 600,000+ HKers. Among the arrested were veteran lawmakers, as well as Jeffrey Andrews, first ethnic minority social worker to run. They are charged with “subversion to the state”.
