Those who work in the gaming/anime industry: if you’re comfortable sharing with me, I would love some advice or pointers on how you ended up in your career, or some pointers on writing a creative resume.

I think the most important thing is to draw points of comparison between the gaming job descriptions and the experience you do have. I got into the industry interning for Blizzard, and my past experience was organizing TCG events. There was a lot more in common with the two...

...than I initially thought. Highlighting all those transferable skills in your resume, then telling the story behind those bullet points in your cover letter, and wrap it all up by getting personal about how games have changed your life, that’s how I did it! Hope that helps

Making a ton of connections in the field you want to pursue will also behoove you for sure. Asking about their experiences and how they got into the industry can give you great creative ammunition for writing your own. Everyone’s story is different!
