yo do I have any LA friends who live at a place that doesn't have A/C in the bedroom? how do you survive summer?
You can get a window-mounted unit installed for as low as $500. I have one of those right now and a ceiling fan and keep my door/windows closed all the time and have a nice cool room with no AC.

These windows are like awkwardly sized ones that slide open sideways and have no screen, so idk if it would work or not. It's something to keep in mind though!
