I'm going to try out some open-ended consulting. If there's anything you want to talk with me about, or any way in which you think I can help, schedule a time. Free 15 minute call, and may continue free calls if you're doing something interesting.

Thinking that all that matters is grades is a dangerous mindset.

If you are on your way to solving a problem, there is no need to worry. Take comfort in the fact that you are making progress, and that you will soon be where you want to be.

Request for Product: A product that syncs with my calendar and charges me a pre-determined rate if I am late to a meeting, or if I don't show up. Skin-in-the-game would give me an additional incentive to show up, especially when I am tired but still should attend a meeting.

One must not forget the hidden lessons school teaches: - Learning is not fun - You need a degree to find a "good job" (a.k.a college is the best path) - Real-world success is the result of primarily academic success - There are certain facts you "need to know"

School choice is beneficial for both those who choose an alternative, and those who stick with public schools. Competition encourages all players -- private, public, charter, and so on -- to work on improving the quality of their education. And that's what matters.

Where you live should not determine what school you attend, just like your address does not determine where you can shop, or eat.

Community is one of the most important things ambitious young people need. Knowing other people who are doing / have done the same thing as you is powerful, and keeps you going. What communities exist specifically for younger entrepreneurs (i.e. )?

Twitter search is a powerful feature. It’s not very intuitive, but that means those who use it well have an advantage. The search feature allows us to look through past thoughts, and find every thought someone has Tweeted on a particular topic.

Most credentials are based on the assumption that doing one thing at one time is proof you have mastered a topic. I expect many credentials in the future to function in the opposite way: to provide in-the-moment validation. (e.g. GitHub profiles, endorsements)

Being able to choose what school a young person attends is not "against public schools." Rather, it is in support of giving young people the best shot they could have at success.

Why are there so few young entrepreneurs? A few ideas: - Culture (18-year-olds starting companies is not as widely accepted as going to college) - Legal complexity (legal/compliance) - Operational complexity (How do I run a company?) - Capital What else?

What are the best tools for platforms, in general, to filter for quality? A few examples: - Manual moderation - Group by category - Economic incentives - Referrals / invites - Applications

Idea: A simple site that allows you to describe a statistic and assigns it to a fact-finder to uncover that stat. Premise: Sometimes, we can describe a stat, but we can't find the source or a similar stat (esp. common for writers). Would you use this service?

I'm curious about how our language will change as more young people are introduced to coding. When you're coding, every piece of punctuation matters. Perhaps this result in more focus over the usage of punctuation in our literacy.

Tradition may be one reason why shorter books don't exist: publishers have strict standards, and people have a clear idea in mind of what constitutes a book (hundreds of pages of words on a specific topic). What else?

For context, many of the best pieces of content I have read over the last year have been long-form (5k-10k words) and left me wanting more. But as a whole book, I don't think I would have read about it (due in large part to the time / general commitment of reading a full book).

Open question: Why have shorter books (50-100 pages) not taken off? A lot of great blog posts could have been longer books, and a lot of good books could have been great as a shorter book.
