    Excited to share our new paper: “Road avoidance and its energetic consequences for reptiles” in tl;dr: reptiles change their behav in response to roads, but energetic costs of road avoidance are low compared to reprod costs.

    This is pretty cool and highlights how little we know about salamander life history. Partly cause its hard to track individuals. From my mark recapture of Plethodon montanus I found individuals in the same spot year after year and small home ranges

    I enjoyed this guide, and many concepts can be applied to digital notebooks to track projects, too. I mostly keep things in digital format now, but still keep a notebook for ideas. There is something reassuring and cathartic about sketching ideas in a notebook.
