OK. Singapore is tough on drugs, tough on crime, tough on graffiti, tough on chewing gum, and has near zero crime problem. Also has a justice system in which the obstacles to locking up bad people have all been conveniently removed.
Again I’m not arguing against that
My tweet was literally just how the u.s. operation of law is failing. I’m not sure where all this other stuff is coming from
Obviously the US legal system is failing. Obviously Philippine legal system was failing. I would say the cause of the problem was the Warren court making it hard to convict people of the kind of crimes that black people typically commit. Others say it is the war on drugs.
The point of my graphs are that it’s failing. No need to try to interpret it any other way
That there is a problem is obvious. The prominent references to drugs suggests the theory that the drug war is causing this problem. The example of Singapore suggests that the drug war is not causing this problem.
It does not suggest that. Don’t fabricate things. It implies that it solved nothing and only increased spending. Look at the graphs one more time lmao
What is that it does not suggest?
And yet it seems to me that, at least for people of my race and class, the chance of being wrongfully convicted and punished in Singapore is far less than in the west.
Yeah maybe
