Thread: why China will never rule the world. Many people e.g. @akarlin88 look at the numbers and the stats and project that China will dominate the world in n years.
That will never happen. China may be rich. But never *that* rich. And will never be able to dominate others.

Arguably Chinese GDP is higher than US already, and China seems to be dominating some backward countries already. China has unsinkable aircraft carriers in the South China sea. They are working on hypersonic missiles and stealth penetrating radar.

I don’t believe PPP figures for a second. China indeed is probably capable of destroying any invading US army. But so what? Even if it burns every ship over the SCS, cargo ships will have to take 3 more days to reach Japan. Doh.

China registered nearly twice as many cars as the US in 2017, which kind of fits with the amount of shininess and big buildings rising. Looks like GDP substantially higher than the US, no matter what PPP says. Right now, can probably control the South China sea if it wants.

If China makes progress on stealth penetrating radar and hypersonic missiles, can control the Pacific. I see Pacific nations preparing their cards for that eventuality. We have known in principle how to do stealth penetrating radar for forty years.
