I have. You can find some who disagreed with this tweet. Government doesn’t care about crimes. The Pennsylvania AG is dedicated to working up a moral panic about priests abusing children 30 years ago, while protecting public schools, to extend the civil statute of limitations.

Yes, no doubt, maybe I'm not who
@PhilOutsider is talking about. I don't think secular powers are the key to fixing the Church, I certainly agree that secular investiture would be heretical. I'm no caesaropapist. -
What I believe is that in this moment the activities of the secular/pagan government and media are providentially playing a role in the purification of the Church. The motives of the actors don't matter, God is sovereign and he will use their actions for the good of His Church

Cuz this is the other side of it for me: true power in the Church is holinesshttps://mobile.twitter.com/Ethawyn/status/1032662710377299968 …

The pope is appealing to twenty first century holiness, wherein denouncing global warming is holiness, and repudiating Christian and New Testament holiness, wherein a male who lies with males shall be expelled from the congregation.
-
The Christian call to holiness hasn't changed. Each of us must strive by the grace of God to be holy. Good pope or bad, God's call remains the same.
-
Is God calling us to repent of Global Warming, capitalism, white privilege, male privilege, and cishet privilege? Somehow I doubt it. New Testament explicitly commands patriarchy, male supremacy, adherence to one's proper sex role, and the exclusion of gays.
-
I don't think we're having the same conversation.
-
Pope is accused of playing footsie with gays, contrary to the New Testament command that they be excluded from the congregation. Pope responds "Global Warming". The question then is: what is holiness? Decrying global warming loudly enough?
