Not sure who needs to hear this, but to all the young black men out there and beyond- if you’re doubting what you can do, take a moment, breathe, and shoot for the stars, and be yourself- and find your way- cause you are enough. There’s nothing you can’t do. Living Proof!

Today we honor the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the continuous struggle for change. Honoring Dr. King's legacy is more than quotes and tweets on MLK Day–we are called to do more. We are called to act and walk in that purpose today, tomorrow, and every day after.

I would not be here if not for a nurse. As the grandson of a nurse, I am honored to stand with in the Bronx today to fight for a fair contract & better patient care. Nurses have always shown up for us–it’s time to show up for them w/ the protections they need & deserve.

New York nurses provide care for our communities everyday. Proudly stand with fighting for a fair contract & safe staffing. I am hopeful all parties can come to a swift resolution to improve working conditions for our essential nurses & protect dignified care for NYers.

Seniors should not be rendered ineligible for their medical needs simply because of cost of living adjustments to their social security benefits or pensions. This legislation will help seniors in this essential program retain their benefits & access affordable prescription drugs.

The #BaileyBunch and I spent the morning spreading some love and holiday cheer in the district! Thanks to all for coming out to support our annual district toy drive. We were able to distribute toys to a great number of families with the help and support of community partners.
