gotta love spending 3 hours hunting down and fixing an issue only to find out cat(1) is the culprit. kill me (And if anyone else ends up running into bullshit when concatenating multi-GB binary files, I threw this together , even goes faster for me)

Best part? This tool *should* work with the PC definitive edition and the nintendo switch version on day 1 (as it should work with all GM:S 2 games)

Thanks to for the Help!

The code for this was written in Rust. Will post the code/file format documentation later, want to do some cleanup first.

Every sprite/sound/texture with names and proper file extension. Have spent a *lot* of hours on this (>1000 lines of code + weeks of reverse engineering). This should also allow for modding of the switch version on release day

My steps were: 1. create repo on github with readme/license 2. realize I can't just push to it now 3. have great idea of cloning it, moving the files over, then commit+push 4. create "project2" folder (so the cloned files don't end up all loose, duh) 5. clone OUTSIDE of project2

Just spent an hour or two creating a project them when I went to upload it to github I rm -rf'd it on accident So this is why people say sleep is important, huh.

With this, you get compile-time assurance of correct and proper conversion between spaces. For example in a software emulated MMU you could use this to ensure you never use virtual addresses as physical or vice versa. Could be applied to any invert-able transformation/type too.

Had this Rust code come to me in a dream (quite literally): Zero runtime cost Type-level assurance of linear mapping between spaces (bit of a mouthful). For my example I use it for virtual address translation. Playground link:

Using this you can essentially get compile-time assurance that you properly convert. In a software-based MMU emulation this could be used to make sure you never accidentally use virtual addresses as physical or vice versa.

Today I'm releasing binwrite, a derive macro for declarative binary serialization for ! While there's plenty of great means of parsing binary data in rust, I didn't find many options for writing so I made my own!
