NY state has lost more than 32,000 lives to COVID-19. So while it's great that the numbers have gone down, it's perplexing to see crowing, Cuomo going on Fallon, etc. No other state has lost as many lives, not even close. New Jersey is next with 17,000+https://nypost.com/2020/07/13/jimmy-fallon-welcomes-gov-cuomo-during-first-show-back-in-studio/ …

6/ There are many New York citizens put off by the crowing and the poster sales. It's great that the number have gone down, and I hope to God they stay there. But New York's leaders were late and made many mistakes; it's been an absolute tragedy.

I'm a NYer. Gov. Cuomo has done a great job. Article you posted admits: "...it seems highly unlikely that any response by the state or city could have fully stopped the pandemic..state and city officials were also hampered by a chaotic and often dysfunctional federal response."

Good thing he didn’t do poorly. Might’ve killed 50,000 or 60,000 people instead of 24,000. New York is certainly lucky to have him.
