First confession, then contrition, then prayer. The involvement of high-priced lawyers has a way of fouling up that sequence.

This is very much beneath you, Jake. As a Catholic, I am as outraged as anybody by the sexual abuse scandal. But that doesn't mean that calls for prayer on other matters are invalid. You might want to reflect further on this.
-
Jake, I'm outraged as well, and as a Catholic I find comfort knowing there is a special place in hell for such acts towards children.

The Catholic Church owes their parishioners more than this vague non-addressing of this issue. It’s time the Vatican started looking out for these youngsters instead of protecting these predators...

As a Catholic, I am sickened by these coverups. Rest assured, Jake, the faithful laity are enraged by these actions. We have faith and will pray and work for justice for victims and the future of our Church.
-
Yeah... You know what thoughts and prayers do for the poor tortured souls left in the wake of this?

Time to shut down the Catholic Church. I'm not kidding. The corruption is irredeemable.

Imagine how many pedophiles the pope was harboring when people got all mad about his picture being ripped.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVh3G5LexLk …
-
Mhmmm They can still get mad since the church is still doing it

I havent been to a Mass in the last 2 years when prayers have not been offered for the victims of crimes of these people. Prayers are not enough, but we are praying, angry and hurting.

And Cardinal: You need to go to confession. 1. You believe in the vocation of Confession. 2. You know whomever you see for confession MUST REPORT IT TO THE POLICE as it is a crime. That is what we were taught as children.

So they can't pray for anyone else too?
-
Sure they can. He was only asking if the church is also willing to pray for the young boys whose rape and molestation they helped to cover up.
-
Of course it is. Not only that but this summer the Catholic faithful were called to pray and fast for the victims. Jake's just being an asshole.https://www.vaticannews.va/en/pope/news/2018-08/pope-francis-letter-people-of-god-sexual-abuse.html …
