It's a guess, but my guess is this would be related to WebRTC or QUIC. I'm not familiar enough with Edge to know if they are functionally identical in this aspect, but if they aren't that might be impossible to work around.

Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if it came down to a codec thing, but it seems to work if you change UA strings.

How about doing feature detection rather than using user agent string detection at all? You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany than a user agent string. Politicians are more honest than user agent strings. Even <inset the "other" party's name> politicians.

We'd need to make it a "launch requirement". Folks are working on that, but it takes time to get everyone to buy into company-wide things like that.
