Easiest way is to dig it up while being "powered up" by a fruit - when the full tree is in your inventory, it'll tell you what type it is. Yeah I’m being totally OCD and wanted to make a fruit area but I know some of them are hardwood... didn’t want to dig them up one by one to be sure

There's also the lazy, but requires patience way - Don't touch ANY of your trees at all for three days and wait for them all to bear fruit before moving them around.
