"People ask when we will find all of these families and, sadly, I can’t give an answer... will not stop looking until we have found every one... tragic reality is that hundreds of parents were deported to Central America without their children, who remain here,” said @leegelernt.

Most of these parents, if ever found, will face insurmountable hurdles to reunification with their children in the United States.pic.twitter.com/7VNyVauN8y

Lawyers can't find parents of 545 separated children
About two-thirds of the 1,000 plus parents separated from their kids under a 2017 pilot program were deported before a federal judge ordered they be found.

A critically important story from @KQED, @michelleewiley and @adrianamorgao. The work @JusticeInMotion, @supportKIND, @wrcommission, @ACLU and others are doing to search for and reunite families separated by Trump has ground to a halt because of COVID. https://www.kqed.org/news/11831289/how-covid-19-has-impacted-the-search-for-separated-families …

Remember: the government knew that many of these children were so young they would struggle to find their parents after separations, but Trump moved forward with the policy anyway.https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/immigration/officials-said-2017-separated-migrants-under-12-couldn-t-find-n1242439 …

Monday I heard what three years of being separated sounds like. This son was taken from dad by Trump admin at age six. He’s now living with relatives in CA. Dad was deported to Honduras without him. @AlOtroLado_Org trying to bring his dad back to reunite.pic.twitter.com/9OWaVpotKN

Some of these kids have been separated from their parents for three years. Their kids may think of their parents as strangers at this point.

The United States (read: Donald Trump specifically) should be financially responsible to these migrant families who he forcibly separated where the children will be dealing with the emotional trauma for years to come.
