I don’t know how anyone defends the design in Souls-like games of having to run through a bunch of shit you’ve already done simply to try fighting a boss again. That’s not difficult, that’s just tedious.

Well that's basically how Souls 1 and 3 are structured; 'open' world made of hallways and rooms, with unlockable shortcuts and teleport save points that respawn the enemies when you use them.
