Is it actually humane to give women reduced sentences? Is it unacceptable to treat trans women and cis women differently in the justice system? It seems like both can't be true.

Reduced sentencing for defendants who transition to female is effectively the same as early release for convicts who accept chemical castration

Nobody wants to think of transition in terms of push factors, but it's obvious that there are tons of them. Isn't that even a little bit concerning? Does ameliorating push factors risk leaving existing trans people alone, like the deaf with cochlear implants?
