why do you say "low" rather than "high" stakes here?

Low stakes vis a vis thier own ability to bullshit without it coming back to bite them. Eg. They would just go buckwild like this re cases being heard in court, or actually being litigated or attended to elsewhere. It was a self contained bubble where they controlled narrative.

the way i remember this stuff, it all started with the "dear colleague" letter and they were going nuts with this 1 in 4 statistic and so on while cases going through the universities were complete shitshows of kids getting railroaded and outright hoaxes as with the UVA "case"

they were the point men of the whole thing, they were completely impervious to challenge, and i think the only thing that stopped them was the trump administration reversing the obama administration's regulatory position (i.e. "dear colleague")

i keep coming back to this "by any means necessary" thing with people. if you accept the premise that 1 in 4 women on US college campuses are being raped while there, how can your position not be "by any means necessary"?

Two big problems with the "low rate of false accusations;" one, there's no actual way to know if an accusation is false unless you can prove the two people never had sex, which is rarely the issue. Two, easier it is to convict, the more people will use the process as a weapon

And it's totally asymmetrical, this is not a relationship option for a man, he can't decide he wants to send a bitch to prison for ten years. So she in turn doesn't have to really think about the stakes at all because once she survives the sexual encounter her risk is zero.
