I think there might be more truth to it than people like to admit, but you're right that the timeline there makes no sense at all. An influx of tumblr users? In like, 2009?
It's not really true because the biggest ex-lf people were like Sam Kriss and, uh, I guess getfiscal? I guess Tinkzorg now? Not really anybody with significant cultural influence.
