      The immortal soul is really out of date, and, if vulgar atheism hadn't thrown religion out with the Christian god, I'm guessing we would have arrived at compelling alternatives that would be competitive with currently dominant soul-beliefs.

      I'm also not sure that modern trans ideology actually leans much on the idea of "being in the wrong body." This was a major point of contention in the tumblr years and has been resolved in favor of a more libertarian rationale.
