In “Paranoid and Reparative Reading,” Sedgwick argues that even if it was proven that AIDS was a CIA plot, that wouldn’t change what we already know about how power functions today. I’d take the non-transformative impact of WikiLeaks, Panama Papers etc to vindicate that insight.

I’d say it’s worth raising the same question about the Wuhan lab leak hypothesis: how, if at all, would it actually shift our understanding of power if it was proven? Again, my admittedly cynical (in a strictly Sloterdijk/Zizek sense) take is: very little or not at all.
