I'm still not really sure myself how humans are supposed to be able to mass manufacture viable virus capsids without the use of host cells. I guess somebody figured it out, though.

The "normal" way that you make a vaccine is to grow a ton of virus in like, chicken eggs and burn it with acid until only the relevant parts are intact and the virus is inert.

mRNA vaccines aren't grown this way, you just make them in a machine with some microscopic fat bubbles and industrially extruded RNA strands.
