The weirdest video game genre death is extreme sports. You can't tell me there's no commercial demand for a decent snowboarding game.

I think it's cause that stuff will sell but not sell on the same level as some big triple-AAA release, there was a period of time where it felt like publishers had completely lost interest in anything that didn't have the potential to be a massive franchise.
Yeah, I think it's like 2005-2015 the AAAs were all CoD/Halo/AssCreed level blockbuster franchises.
