Just because the fire is already burning doesn't mean it's totally safe to pour more gasoline.
It'll be impossible to tell one way or the other if and when a spark catches so it's probably academic.

Well, one ought to look on it like this. Once the necessary conditions are in place (anger, political revanchism, etc), then every event like this is basically a roll of the dice. THe more rolls you force, the bigger the chance of getting snake eyes.

I thought the protest in DC would end up being basically a slightly angrier version of prior protests in DC. But again, the chance to roll a critical failure on your riot roll was there, and it ended up happening.
