Keep in mind that seasonal infuenza has all but disappeared and lockdowns prevent deaths of certain categories like car crashes, although they probably increase ODs and other deaths of despair.

The second sentence is flatly untrue unless Gonsalves has access to better numbers than those from the US CDC.
