"What, that's what always happens!" Let's say for the sake of argument that I know that and you know that. Don't we kinda need someone who doesn't know it for the system to work?

@Tinkzorg, this is what I've been asking. The DNC knows its racial coalition is in jeopardy. That's now demonstrated by Trump doubling his vote share among blacks. The DNC cannot build a voting coalition out of just the Democrats on the make. https://twitter.com/lit65539723/status/1326944085567922177 …This Tweet is unavailable.Show this thread -
Cannier Republicans seem to see this as an "opportunity" for the GOP, but that assumes the Democrats are bluffing. If you know the left, you know their faces are stuck like that. They can't "pivot" and get those votes back because they can't offer those people money.

Putting Biden at the top of the ticket created the appearance of a Democratic civil war between progressives and moderates. This is a mirage. The putative "moderate" wing has no members under 70 years old. The "progs" WILL replace them. There's nobody else to step in.

And yet... She persisted. What's the deal here? If we ran elections like we normally do, with the majority of the vote in person on election day, with things like deadlines to report the number of mail ballots outstanding, the Democrats would lose forever from here on out.

The deal is that what you're seeing as the DNC is something else entirely from what it used to be. It does have a plan, but that plan doesn't involve contested elections in the sense that most people are presumed to expect.

They're building real power, the kind that can collect as many valid unfilled ballots as necessary to achieve the desired result and deploy as many and as few as will keep their favorable result from scrutiny. If that comes to be expected it's game over for "democracy."
