The reason “retarded” is the go-to edgy slur on here is because the only people who actually care about it are part of the weakest and most loathed groups in our society.

It’s funny how everyone who posts here is giving me a different answer. Anyways that’s definitely part of it, but it’s true about other slurs too and there are plenty of educated people on here saying “retard”.
By education in this case I'm thinking more "where you went to k12" than "whether you have a bachelor's." Public school kids of my generation, who knew plenty of black/gay/mentally handicapped peers, didn't throw the n word around but did call people gay retards.
