Again, if you go to a dangerous place lookin for shit and catch shit, is that still self defense? Technically sure but you basically wanted it to happen.

practically, I agree with this. I would not do what he did, I would not let myself get shot or sent to jail to protect Kenosha WI ethically, he is correct, not me. there is no moral duty to retreat forever from people destroying public spaces

there is a strange blind spot in these arguments for the people who form armed mobs and burn cities. at this point it seems quite clear that nothing of value will be accomplished by any of this, yet it is somehow obvious to you that they are in the right.

let me ask you this: suppose, hypothetically, there was a armed band of criminals who attacked an armed person. the armed person kills one of them in self-defense and begins to withdraw from the encounter. does this band of criminals now have a right to detain the shooter?

okay, good. what you are saying endangers young, impressionable people. that kid absolutely had a reasonable belief that his life was in danger. he was surrounded by people with violent intentions, some of them armed with deadly weapons.

any suggestion to the contrary will encourage stupid twitter leftists to try and be heroes like the dead pedophile and the rest. being part of an armed, violent mob is dangerous and the law will side with people who defend themselves against its actions.

He went onto private property where he was a guest of the owner. Not unlikely he was chased into the streets.
