The ability to run for office and win if elected is a fundamental part of citizenship in a democracy. The legislature of Kansas did not disqualify him from running based on any conduct in his past.

I'm not a perfect person. I've done dreadful things in my lifetime. I've sure as hell never tried to hound anybody into suicide though, and that's a solid guarantee.
