If we hypothetically redistributed all means of production globally, do you think there would not be enough?

really depends on what we are saying is enough hypothetically WE could be considered "elite"

Not living in destitute. Roof, food, transport, education - nothing fancy. In nyc theres empty luxury apartments and ppl on the streets. Ive seen excessive waste in suburbs (space and resource wise) and seen ppl struggling in Africa firsthand. Dont need star trek for the basics.

I mean the excess is gaudy and obscene right now in the wealth disparity globally. Its unprecedented. Idk how you can think we really need to fight eachother instead of the elite or that theres too many mouths to feed.

This is what I mean, though. "The excess" when we are talking about consumption is not just about food, water, and shelter. It's about energy, meat, transportation, etc Degrowth people (and I don't agree with the 'strategy' at all) are talking about THAT too.

Just by raw money, if you split the richest ppls funds (assets liquidated), youd have enough to cover everyone for all 6 categories listed. Though energy idk much about so ill take your point on it.
