I saw it in theaters, it was jarring at first, but took about 20 minutes or so to adjust to. The pacing of the film, the poor direction and the effect created by the increased frame-rate created a sort of uncomfortable, fever-dream like quality to the experience initially.
I wanted to see the high frame rate releases of the Hobbit movies but I never wanted to see the actual movies. I guess they're just never going to release the HFR versions again or make any more movies like that. Must have been pretty bad.
